This is the simplest and perhaps the most direct form of Synthesis Meditation. Here, you intentionally weave together the wisdom of science and the language of the sacred, honoring both as sources of wonder and meaning. # How to Practice: ## 1. Find a quiet space. Settle in, close your eyes if you wish. Settle into your breath, cultivating mindfulness. ## 2. Bring to mind a scientific fact about yourself or the universe. For example: “Every atom in my body was once inside a star.” ## 3. Let this fill your awareness. Imagine it, feel it, let it resonate. ## 4. Next, bring to mind a sacred image or idea. Perhaps: “I am a beloved child of the Divine,” or “I am part of the living Earth.” ## 5. Let this fill your awareness. Really feel into it, let it live in you. ## 6. Finally, hold both together. Allow the scientific and the sacred to sit side by side in your awareness. Notice what happens. What feelings, insights, or even discomfort arise? Follow the feelings, insights, or discomfort until something new arises. This could be an image, an idea, or a full third story between the two. ## 7. Afterwards, reflect. Return to your body/ Journal about the experience or talk with someone you trust. Maybe paint or draw an image. Express this new idea that is core to the way you operate in the world. This is where the synthesis deepens, and where new meaning is born.
